Update:

Well, this is one of the reasons I didn’t want to start a blog: my time management. I didn’t want to let Mr. RDW down with my lack of postings – it’s a fairly high bar he’s set.
In fairness, I have been out of town for 3 of the last 7 days (to Detroit of all places for pleasure, even!) and started a new position for work that begins an hour earlier than my usual.
Still…my experience at The Joe, an Italian-American (God I hate that term) nominated to SCOTUS, the JT publishing racist crap, a simple "date" movie blatantly going Leftie/Lib with no warning or reason last nite, and a member of the Senate calling my ethnicity basically not minority enough? I GOTTA COMMENT ON THESE, DON’T I??!?

Even if no one cares…..not to mention I want to talk a little about the hypocrite lefties out there in their SUVs and/or lust for a gas guzzlers.

Reality: Just like high school, for Pete’s sake (and who the hell is Pete, anyway...), it takes me forever to incubate anything I put in writing.

(not minority enough? To quote PJ O'Rourke: WTF? WTF-ing F?!??!...oh, methinks this will fit in nicely with my citizenship experience. Not minority enough, indeed.)

The Bucks…

They sure seem busy, don’t they?

The Milwaukee Bucks just announced a trade today whereby they get a center for a swingman to alleviate the “logjam” created at that position by the re-signing of Michael Redd.

Logjam?!?
Logjam?!? (I feel like Jim Mora talking to reporters…“Playoffs?!?!”)

Because of this trade, they now have 4 centers on the team (I’ll try to refrain from doing math on this blog, but that’s roughly 1/3 of the team) – ranging from the #1 overall pick to a 38 year old with a great work ethic.
Had they not traded a young, talented guy like Mason, they would have had a “logjam” of 3, maybe 4 players at his position.

To me it seems that no one over at the Bucks has strong confidence in any of their centers. Especially their #1 overall pick.

Reality: They traded Desmond before he demanded more money. Convince fans this is good because you are finally over-propagating a position that has been weak as of late - at the expense of a talented, young player who wanted to set roots in the community.
That and it sounds like they have no confidence in Bogut.

Can't wait to see how they spin this one.

Inaugural Reality Check

In keeping with Uncle Fred’s advice on what to write about....

So for my niece’s birthday this year, I bought her a “beta” fish (ok, so I had no idea what that was until I went to the pet store), bowl, rocks, etc. She absolutely loved it, Uncle was happy. Good call, right?

I found this nugget of insanity yesterday.

It made me embarrassed of my brethren across the pond.

Reality: You people are nuts.

Welcome

Before I go into my diatribe, I guess I should say a bit about my background…
I was born long ago…wait, maybe just the abridged version:
Born & Raised: Small town in southern Italy, Pop. ~3,000. Moved to the US in 1978 just as I hit 7 yrs. Raised and went to schools in Kenosha.

Attended UW-P as a History Major…then PoliSci, then Molecular Biology.
Q: What does that make me?
A: First or second picked at Trivial Pursuit. The pay stinks, but the benefits are good.

Moved to Greenfield for 4 years, moved back south to Racine 7 years ago.
I was raised in a Liberal, very strong Union household (UAW). I was a member of a Union myself – both as an employee and an owner. My eyes were opened in college, however, that there is a better way to do things.

I decided to become a US citizen when I was 16 or so, but when I went to college, there was always a better way to spend the roughly $300 (beer…uh..beer, etc.). I’m really not proud of that, but it’s the truth (I'll now refer you to name and scope of blog).
I finally became a citizen before the 2004 elections.
That story will appear here at some point as it is comical, in a sad way.

I feel very strongly about immigration, foreigners and conservative causes.
(Please note: the word is “conservative” not “republican.” Those who require a semantics lesson on the difference between these two words, please seek it elsewhere).

This particular blog will meander through politics, sports, life, sports and politics. Only not necessarily in that order.

Thanks for stopping by, all opinions are welcome but may be subject to question.

Special thanks to RDW for all the help and encouragement.

...and yes, the dates are in Italian. Deal with it.
